Conditions for counselling and guidance

To receive our help, you must meet a number of conditions. Among other things, you must belong to our organisation. We also set requirements for your income and number of hours worked.

Requirements regarding collective agreements and transition organisations

We can help you if you are employed or laid off by an employer that lacks a collective agreement and does not have another transition organisation.

On the “Find your transition organisation” website, you can find out which transition organisation can help you by searching for your employer’s company registration number.

Find your transition organisation (in Swedish) External link.

Requirements regarding income or number of hours worked

You need to have had a certain income or worked a certain number of hours over the past two years.

Income requirement

For at least 12 months in the past two years, your income must have been at least:

  • SEK 20,150 per month in 2025
  • SEK 19,050 per month in 2024
  • SEK 18,575 per month in 2023
  • SEK 17,750 per month in 2022

We also count as income any salary/wages from a job in the EEA, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or Switzerland.

Have you had income other than your salary/wages?

If, during the past two years, you have had income other than your salary/wages, such as sickness benefit, parental benefit or temporary parental benefit to care for a sick child, we can count that time as skippable. This means you can rely on income information from more than two years ago.

Requirements regarding hours worked

If you do not meet the income requirement, you must have worked an average of at least 16 hours per week for at least 12 months over the past two years.

If you have been laid off, there are requirements about the reason for your dismissal.

If you have been or will be laid off, the dismissal must be due to:

  1. shortage of work or
  2. illness or
  3. that your temporary employment contract has expired or is due to expire.

If you have been laid off for other reasons or have resigned, it is unlikely that you will be able to receive our counselling and career guidance.

Age requirements

You must be less than 65 years old.

Requirements regarding your job

Your current or most recent job must be or have been in Sweden.

Requirements regarding your employer

Your last employer must be registered with the Swedish Tax Agency.

Are you unsure if they are? You can check with the Swedish Tax Agency whether your employer is recorded in their register.

Get company information from the Swedish Tax Agency (in Swedish) External link.

Requirements regarding your professional role

You must not be or have been the managing director/CEO of your current workplace or your last workplace.

Requirements regarding your shareholding

You must not own or have owned at least one third of the shares in your last workplace. This also applies if you and your spouse, registered partner, parent or child jointly own at least one third of the shares.

Requirements regarding your relationship with your employer

You must not work or have last worked for a self-employed person who is your spouse, registered partner or cohabiting partner.
